Gerald Wallace scored 23 points on 10-of-16 shooting for the Bobcats, who have lost two of three games and will also host Oklahoma City on the homestand. Jason Richardson added 22 points in his second game back after knee surgery and D.J. Augustin posted 13 points and five assists in defeat.
The Bobcats went 2-0 against the Timberwolves last season and have won three straight and five of the eight all-time meetings.
Minnesota is 1-3 as the visitor in this series.
